The Wall Street Journal: Penguin Random House CEO resigns in wake of federal judge’s scuttling of Simon & Schuster deal

Markus Dohle has resigned as chief executive of Penguin Random House weeks after a federal judge blocked the world’s largest consumer-book publisher from acquiring rival Simon & Schuster.

He is being succeeded by Nihar Malaviya, 48 years old, currently president and chief operating officer of Penguin Random House U.S., who will serve as interim CEO effective Jan. 1.
