The Fed: Talk of recession in U.S. is greatly exaggerated, Fed’s Bullard says

St. Louis Federal Reserve President James Bullard on Friday downplayed the risk of a U.S. recession, joking that the predictions of the imminent demise of the economy have been greatly exaggerated. 

In a talk to the Economic Club of Minnesota, Bullard said his base case for the U.S. economy was continued slow growth, a somewhat softer labor market, and declining inflation.
