: Russia’s stock market to remain closed for another week

Russia’s stock market will remain closed this coming week, March 14-18, the country’s central bank said Saturday.

However, the central bank said the foreign exchange market, money market and repo market will open at 0700 GMT on those days, Reuters reported.

The Moscow Exchange will not open, with the exception of some non-open-market transactions using the SPFI payment system, the central bank said in a website statement.The central bank said it will issue a decision later on trading from March 21-25, Bloomberg noted.

Stock trading on the Moscow Exchange has been closed since Feb. 25, in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions by the E.U. and U.S. and other countries.
