Shares of Uber Technologies Inc. were up almost 7% Tuesday after rising as much as 10% in premarket trading, after the ride-hailing giant reported strong growth and issued an upbeat outlook for the current quarter.
Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said on the company’s earnings call that Uber UBER was off to a strong start this year, with first-quarter gross bookings for trips up 40% and delivery up 8% compared with the same period last year.
