Dow Jones Newswires: Sony’s PlayStation unit suspends Russian software, hardware shipments

game unit said it had suspended all software and hardware shipments in Russia.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, which is responsible for PlayStation products and services, said in a statement Thursday that it “joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine.”

The Sony unit also said it had suspended the launch of racing video game “Gran Turismo 7” and operations for the PlayStation Store in Russia.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has prompted many Western companies across industries to re-evaluate their businesses in Russia. Some have decided to suspend operations in the country, while others have decided to pull out entirely.
