: Armed intruder at Joint Base Andrews arrested as Harris lands there, other intruder escapes

A 17-year old male with a firearm was arrested after the stolen vehicle he was in didn’t stop on Sunday night at a security checkpoint at Joint Base Andrews, according to news releases from the Air Force and Navy facility in the Washington, D.C., area.

Security forces deployed barriers and apprehended the teen, but another individual who was in the vehicle ended up “on the loose,” and later the security forces and local authorities “found confirmatory evidence” that the other individual had “departed the installation,” the releases said.

The intruders made their moves at the base around the same time that Vice President Kamala Harris and other officials were at the facility following a trip to Alabama, as she was on a plane that landed there and then departed by helicopter.
