Dow Jones Newswires: Repsol profit fell in first quarter as lower energy prices weighed on sales

Repsol SA ES:REP said Thursday that net profit fell in the first quarter, as lower energy prices weighed on sales.

The Spanish energy company said quarterly net profit was 1.11 billion euros ($1.23 billion) compared with EUR1.39 billion in the year-earlier period. Sales for the quarter dropped to EUR15.30 billion from EUR17.25 billion, with crude oil prices falling by an average of 20%.
